Publication Ethics

Iqra Bhisma: Jurnal Studi Ilmu Keagamaan Islam is a peer-reviewed academic journal published four times a year by Yayasan Darussalam, Cirebon, Indonesia. This journal is available in an open-access (online) format to facilitate the dissemination of knowledge in the field of Islamic studies.

Publication Ethics Statement

This statement aims to establish ethical standards for all parties involved in the journal's publication process, including authors, editors, the editorial board, reviewers, and the publisher. The policy adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines to ensure integrity, transparency, and academic quality in every publication.

Editorial Responsibilities

  1. Selecting and deciding which articles are eligible for publication based on scientific relevance, academic contribution, and originality.
  2. Ensuring that the peer review process is conducted objectively, fairly, and free from conflicts of interest.
  3. Maintaining the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, disclosing information only to authorized parties involved in the publication process.
  4. Addressing suspected ethical violations, including plagiarism, data fabrication, and other academic misconduct.

Author Responsibilities

  1. Ensuring that submitted articles are original works that have not been published elsewhere.
  2. Avoiding plagiarism, data fabrication, and any form of data manipulation.
  3. Properly citing references in accordance with academic standards.
  4. Including contributors who have played a significant role in the research and writing of the article.
  5. Disclosing potential conflicts of interest that may affect the interpretation of research findings.

Reviewer Responsibilities

  1. Conducting objective, constructive, and scholarly assessments of submitted articles without personal or professional bias.
  2. Maintaining the confidentiality of reviewed articles and not misusing obtained information.
  3. Providing clear and constructive feedback to enhance the quality of the article.
  4. Declining to review manuscripts if there is a conflict of interest with the author or the content being reviewed.

Publisher Responsibilities

  1. Ensuring that every published article undergoes a rigorous selection and peer review process.
  2. Upholding editorial independence without external interference.
  3. Providing a complaint mechanism and procedures for article retraction or correction in case of ethical violations.

Plagiarism Policy

Iqra Bhisma strictly prohibits any form of plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software. Articles found to contain plagiarism will be rejected before publication or retracted from the journal.

Sanctions for Ethical Violations

If any violation of publication ethics is identified, the journal reserves the right to:

  1. Reject or retract the problematic article.
  2. Report the violation to the relevant academic or professional institutions.
  3. Prohibit authors found guilty of misconduct from submitting future articles to the journal.
